Faith was found at a truck stop. A stray, living with another dog and puppies, Faith had reached a pivotal moment in her life when Animal Control picked her up. She was slated to be euthanized. Upon hearing her story, Living Free Animal Sanctuary did everything in their power to save her. In April of 2015, Faith was rescued and brought to the safety of our kennel here at Living Free Animal Sanctuary.
Faith, through no fault of her own, was adopted and then returned 5 times. Each time it was for a different reason. Although she had a charming, goofy, and unique personality, she just didn’t seem to stick with each adoptive family that took her home. She gained a following on our social media for her silly antics and everyone seemed to wonder why she struggled to find the right family.
In May of 2020, Ashley and her husband Rodney were looking for a family dog for their three children, Logan 8, Rodney 3, and Adam 1. Ashley said, “We had just moved to Aguanga in June of 2019 and it didn’t quite feel like home yet. We looked around online and through many recommendations we found Living Free.”
“Rodney did not want a female dog, so the first dog we met was a big ole guy that was a little nervous around the children. One of the staff suggested Faith. She was brought to meet us in the play yard, and I was in love! Faith was a whirlwind of gentle smiles and tail wags. She gave our toddler smooches, came to lick the baby’s feet, and then plopped down right on my feet. It just felt right. I called my husband and told him his ideal dog turned out to be a future momma’s girl. He told me if it felt right for us and the kids, then let’s give her the forever home she deserves.”
Ashley shared, “Faith is quite the dog, she loves everyone. She is always by my side. Having Faith as part of our little family is wonderful. She will always bark when a stranger is nearby, or someone comes to the door. Faith and my husband play rough, but she is very gentle with the two older children and me. She is especially gentle with our 14-month-old baby and has taken it upon herself to be his protector.”
“Recently, the kids begged us for a kitten. We gave in and now have a kitten named Odin. He and Faith are best friends. They play together all day. They roll around on the floor, play biting and when Faith is tired of playing, she will get up and walk away with Odin hanging onto her tail. Odin is usually not done playing and wants Faith to come back. At night they even share a bed. It’s the cutest thing ever.”
Ashley said, “Faith is just such a great pup, we are so fortunate to have found her. It has been almost a year and we are so thankful and grateful that we found her. She completes our family. She is sweet, loving, caring, protective and beautiful inside and out.”
Ashley, thank you so much to you and your family for giving Faith this chance to be in a loving home with people who care about her; for giving Faith the opportunity to give her love to you and to show the world the many gifts dog’s have to share with us.
Love these “Happy Tales” stories. Congratulations Faith and to your family.
